Pilgrimage to the Sacred Batu Caves

The devotees were stomping their ways up to the inner Batu Caves to give offerings and to implore to their Lord Murugan for wellness and health. Following are the photos of my productions of Thaipusam 2011. The photos depict the devout pilgrims journey to their God, Lord Murugan (Tamil God of War).

The Mah Meri

Event: Tribute to Mah Meri tribe

Venue: Sg. Bumbun Village, Carey Island, Kuala Langat.

[note] Mah Meri is one of the Indigenous communities in the Peninsular Malaysia and their population is declining due to the exploitation of Sime Darby Plantation surrounding their residence. This tribe hides so many surreal ceremonies and spectacular rituals and behind these, a community is unveiled.
